Alternate universe shenanigans with [personal profile] namedforcat

[When you hang around ghosts almost constantly, you hear about a lot of weird things. Apparently the ghosts that still roam about have an extensive gossip network - so news about a strange energy source makes it's way to Lapis sooner or later. The fact that one, ghosts can't get near it, and two, it's on the outskirts of Milan a.k.a only a few hours away, means that Lapis has to go investigate. Granted, it takes a while to get there by bike and it's the dead of night by the time she arrives, but at least it means she can investigate in peace. She already had to deal with a lot of fussing from her elder sister.

Even above ground, she can still feel the odd thrum of energy, pulling her towards an dilaptated and rather hazardous looking entryway in the side of the mountain. The spirits that usually hang around her hover around the entrance, worried and uncertain about what's inside - so armed with just a torch, Lapis slowly makes her way in, easily hopping around and over the crumbling walkways. Everything leads into a rather ruined looking hall, with an odd little artifact in the center, the source of the energy she's been feeling.

Lapis takes a few moments to look it over, taking note of the odd, cross-looking shape and an indentation in the pedestal just beside it. It's hard to resist the urge to slide the artifact into the slot, and so that's just what she does - not really too surprised at how the odd designs and lines that begin to glow, momentarily blinding her for a moment. What is a surprise, though, is when she senses something else - a ghost, just like the ones waiting for her outside. That's enough to get her composure to falter for just a second, taking a few moments to blink and clear her vision - still seeming oddly calm despite what happened as she rubs at her eyes.]

Ah... Hello, is someone there? [She defaults to Italian, considering the country they're currently in, only to pause for a moment, before switching to some accented English instead.] And can you understand me? I'm pretty sure I just summoned something...
